An available 6.6-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel V8 produces 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque and comes standard on the AT4X and Denali Ultimate. With the Duramax diesel and dual rear wheels, the GMC Sierra 3500 HD can tow up to 36,000 lbs when properly equipped and configured. An integrated trailer brake controller and Trailering Package come standard on every model.
How Does the GMC Sierra 2500 HD Differ From the GMC Sierra 3500 HD?
The GMC Sierra 3500 HD is engineered for heavier workloads and offers higher maximum towing and payload ratings than the GMC Sierra 2500 HD. It is also the only one of the two available with a dual-rear-wheel configuration. Both models are available in Denali Ultimate form, while cab, bed, drivetrain, and trim availability varies between them.
