Who is eligible for the program?
Program is available on eligible, new GMC vehicles to the following: paid or volunteer Firefighters, Police — including Police Officers, Sheriffs and Sheriff’s Deputies, Correctional Officers, State Troopers and Federal Law Enforcement Officers — EMTs/Paramedics and 911 Dispatchers and their spouse*.

Yes; you can share your offer with your spouse.
What is ID.me?
ID.me is one of four companies selected by the federal government to provide a Single Sign On for American citizens that will be accepted across all government websites over the next two years. By confirming your documentation through ID.me, your identity will be verified, making you eligible for the GM First Responder offer.
How Do I Take Advantage of the GM First Responder Discount?
Firefighters, Police, EMTs/Paramedics and 911 Dispatchers: Visit ID.me to create an account, or if you already have one, log in with ID.me, and then on the GM First Responder Offer landing page click "Get Authorization Number."
Healthcare Professionals: To get and use the offer, register or sign in. Once signed in, select "GM Healthcare Professionals Offer" from the Program menu. Then choose "Get Authorization Number" and follow the prompts. Print out your authorization number and take it, along with proof of eligibility (see below), to a participating GM Dealer.
What Should I Bring as proof of Eligibility?
Firefighters, Police, and EMTs/Paramedics: Once you’ve logged onto our site through ID.me, your identity will be verified, which means you’ll no longer be required to provide proof of eligibility at the dealer. However, you must still take your authorization number — along with a copy of your driver’s license with the license number redacted — to your dealer when you’re ready to purchase or lease a new vehicle.
911 Dispatchers: Eligible participants must provide a valid, current 911 training and education document or a 911 ID card that contains the Participant’s full name to verify using ID.me.
Healthcare Professionals: Eligible participants must present the following, along with a valid authorization number, to a participating GM dealer in order to purchase or lease under the program. A copy of The Participant's ID/badge or a copy of a current pay stub (within the last 30 days) with all information redacted except the date of the pay stub, The Participant's name and name of The Participant's employer. A copy of The Participant's driver's license with the driver’s license number redacted.
How Many Vehicles Am I Eligible to Purchase/Lease?
You may purchase/lease up to two (2) eligible, new and unused GM vehicles per year with the GM First Responder Discount.
Can I Title a Vehicle Under My Business Name?
No. The GM First Responder Discount Program does not allow participants to title a vehicle in the name of their business.
As an Eligible Participant, Can I Title a Vehicle in the Name of a Living Trust?
Yes, as long as the living trust bears the name of the eligible Participant.
How Long Do I Have to Keep a Vehicle to Qualify for the GM First Responder Discount?
Vehicles must be retained for a minimum of six (6) months from the vehicle delivery date.
I Recently Bought/Leased a new GM Vehicle. Can I apply the GM First Responder Discount to That Purchase?
No. Previous purchases/leases are not eligible.
Does My Authorization Number Expire?
Authorization numbers are valid for 90 days on the purchase or lease of an eligible, new vehicle. You must take delivery of the vehicle prior to the authorization number expiring.
What Happens to my Authorization Number if I Don't Use it Before it Expires?
If you don’t use your authorization number prior to the expiration date, the authorization will be added back into your account. To purchase or lease, you will have to obtain a new authorization number by following the prompts in the Programs menu.

Can I Combine the GM First Responder Discount with Most Current Offers?
In most cases, yes. Visit your participating GM Dealer for details to see how the values add up.
Does the Purchase/Lease Require a Down Payment?
Your dealership will be able to provide details on the down payment for your chosen vehicle.
Do I Have to Purchase or Lease Through GM Financial?
No. You can purchase or lease through any financial institution. However, some APR offers are exclusive to specific financial institutions.
At The Dealership
Can I still use The Discount if I order a Vehicle Rather Than Choosing One from Lester Glenn GMC Inventory?
Yes, you can receive the discount when you order through Lester Glenn GMC.
Are Dealer-Installed Options Covered By This Discount (e.g., theft-deterrent devices)?
No. Any additional dealer-installed options, conversion/upfit packages, extended warranties and other extra-charge items will be supplied at a price agreed upon by the customer and the dealer.
Are Dealer Demonstration Vehicles Included in this Program?
Yes, if the vehicle has less than 7,500 miles and a dealer demo allowance has not been paid on the vehicle. See your dealer for details.
Can I Use a Trade-In Vehicle with this Program?
Please contact your nearest GM Dealer for more information about trade-ins.

First Responders employed by federal, state or municipal governments may be subject to restrictions that limit their ability to accept this offer. Accordingly, this offer is void unless permitted by applicable federal, state and municipal laws, regulations, rules, ordinances, policies, codes of conduct, and other directives or standards regarding ethics and gift acceptance by the applicable federal, state or municipal employees. By accepting this offer, you verify that doing so complies with all laws, regulations, policies or other restrictions regarding ethics or gift acceptance that apply to you. Eligibility
Participants must be eligible to participate throughout the entire purchase process – from the date the process is started through the date of vehicle delivery.
Eligible Participants
This Program is available only to Eligible Participants, defined as:
- Firefighters — paid or volunteer
- Police — Including police officers, sheriffs/sheriff’s deputies, correctional officers, state troopers and federal law enforcement officers (e.g., customs, homeland security, etc.)
- EMTs/paramedics
- 911 dispatchers
Sponsored Purchasers
Participants are able to sponsor their spouse.
GM has the final decision on all eligibility requirements.
Program Rules
Required Registration
- Firefighters, police, EMTs/paramedics or 911 dispatchers:
- Prior to purchasing or leasing an Eligible Vehicle through the Program, firefighters, police, EMTs/paramedics or 911 dispatchers must register through ID.me to validate their eligibility. For complete information on the ID.me registration process, visit ID.me/about
Authorization Numbers
Each Participant is limited to a certain number of Authorization Numbers each year to purchase or lease Eligible Vehicles under the Program:
- Participants are eligible to receive two (2) authorizations per year
After GM has issued each Authorization Number, they will send the Participant who requested the Authorization Number an electronic confirmation notifying him or her that an Authorization Number has been issued. The Participant must report to GM any unauthorized authorization numbers immediately. Participants who do not report any suspicious or unauthorized use of an Authorization Number issued by him or her may be subject to the Sanctions referenced below.
Required Documentation
In addition to a valid authorization number, Purchasers must present the following documents to a participating GM dealer in order to purchase or lease under the Program:
- firefighters, police, EMTs/paramedics or 911 dispatchers:
- A copy of the eligible Purchaser’s driver’s license, with the driver’s license number redacted, showing the ZIP Code and Date of Birth that was used to obtain the authorization number. The eligible Purchaser’s Date of Birth and ZIP Code must match the eligible Purchaser’s driver’s license.
Eligible Vehicles
For a list of Eligible Vehicles, please visit gmfirstresponderappreciation.com/vehicles. Some models may have limited availability. Vehicle eligibility may change at any time without notice. Dealers are not required to participate in the Program.
Inducements
Participants are prohibited from soliciting or accepting money or discounts, except GM-sponsored incentives, from dealers or any other persons in connection with the sale of Eligible Vehicles under the Program. At no time shall a Participant accept payment or other consideration from dealers for referrals. However, Participants may accept inducements of nominal value, up to $50, provided the inducements are offered to the general public and are noncash in nature, such as a free first oil change. This prohibition does not apply to a fuel fill if provided by the dealer at the time of delivery.
Documentation Fees
Dealers will be permitted to assess a maximum of $75 in documentation fees, except when:
- A documentation fee is specified in the applicable state law
- AND
- Your dealership charges all customers the same documentation fee (excluding all customers purchasing under the GM Employee, Military, First Responder, Executive Referral and Dealership Employee Programs).
Titling Restrictions
A vehicle purchased or leased under the Program must be used for personal, noncommercial use/transportation by Participant. It is prohibited under the Program to purchase, lease, register or title a vehicle in the name of a business or to dispose of the vehicle prior to the retention period. In addition, it is prohibited under the Program to purchase or lease a vehicle for commercial use.
Vehicles purchased under the Program must be registered, licensed, titled, insured and owned by the Participant or Sponsored Purchaser. The Participant or Sponsored Purchaser must be the person named as the Purchaser on the Approval Code Document form. Vehicles may also be titled in the name of a living trust that bears the Participant’s or Sponsored Purchaser’s name.
Vehicles may be titled with a co-buyer provided the Participant or Sponsored Purchaser, who is named as the Purchaser on the Customer Dealer Agreement, is listed as a co-buyer on the:
- Title
- Registration
- Financing documents
- Insurance documents
Vehicle Retention Period
If the Participant is purchasing or leasing a vehicle under the Program with cash or through a loan, the Participant must own and retain the vehicle for at least six (6) months from the date of delivery.
GM reserves the right to modify the retention rules at any time. Retention periods for some vehicles may be different than the retention period referenced in previous versions of these Program Rules and Guidelines.
Audits
GM will conduct periodic audits to ensure the integrity of the Program and of Program compliance by Participants. Participants may be asked to furnish documentation supporting eligibility, vehicle retention and compliance with these Rules and Guidelines. Documents requested may include, but are not limited to, firefighter, police, EMT/paramedic, 911 dispatcher, identification, marriage licenses, registration/title information, any documentation reasonably necessary to verify Participant eligibility, etc.
General Motors reserves the right to audit dealership records and disqualify any sales that do not meet the Program guidelines. Any money improperly paid to any party based upon representations from a dealer or Participant shall be charged back accordingly.
Failure to comply with an audit request may subject the Participant to the sanctions referenced below.
Sanctions
Violations of these Rules and Guidelines, including, but not limited to, violations of eligibility rules, retention periods and titling restrictions by the Participant will result in sanctions against the Participant. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to, the loss of privileges (two (2) years per violation) and repayment of monies.
The sale of any Authorization Numbers, or any unauthorized use of an Authorization Number, is prohibited. A Participant who violates this provision will be suspended from the Program for five (5) years per violation and will be required to repay the incentive monies. Subsequent violations of this rule may result in permanent suspension from the Program.
In addition, GM may pursue legal action against any individual or entity for violating these Rules and Guidelines.
Additional Information
Dealership participation is voluntary. To determine a specific dealership’s willingness to sell vehicles under the Program, the Participant should contact the dealership directly. If a dealership is not willing to sell a vehicle through the Program, the Participant may contact or visit another dealership.
During the initial dealer inventory buildup when new models are introduced, and from time to time thereafter, it may be necessary for GM to restrict purchases on certain models under the Program. Please visit gmfirstresponderappreciation.com to find a current list of Eligible Vehicles.
The Program does not constitute an agreement between GM and any individual for the purchase or lease of any vehicle at a specific price. However, by purchasing an Eligible Vehicle through the Program, the Participant acknowledges and agrees to abide by and be bound by these Program Rules and Guidelines.
These Program Rules and Guidelines may be modified by GM at any time, in GM’s sole discretion.
GM may unilaterally modify, change or withdraw the Program at any time.
Compliance With Applicable Laws
If any law or regulation is adopted or interpreted which, in GM’s opinion, prohibits or penalizes the implementation of the Program, then GM may, in its sole discretion, cancel the Program or any order submitted under the Program without any further obligation and without any liability to either the dealer or the Participant.
THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CANNOT BE MODIFIED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN GENERAL MOTORS.
