For maximum strength, you can choose the available Duramax® diesel 6.6-liter V8 that produces 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. If you’ll need to take your new GMC pickup out on rough terrain, it can also be outfitted with skid plates, off-road tires, and four-wheel drive.
Towing and Hauling Ability
When the 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is properly equipped, it can tow up to 22,500 lbs. That number jumps to 36,000 lbs with the new GMC Sierra 3500 HD. Maximum payload tops out at 3,979 lbs, and you can choose between a 6-foot-10 inch or 8-foot-2-inch bed. The available MultiPro™ tailgate can be put into six different positions, giving you incredible versatility for hauling.
Interior Highlights
There is quite a bit of room inside the 2026 GMC Sierra HD, and it accommodates up to six people with the front-row bench seat configuration. The standard upholstery is vinyl, but you can upgrade for either cloth or leather. Other add-ons include heated and ventilated front seats.
