GM is Adding Gemini to Millions of Vehicles

GM has announced a partnership with Google™ to bring support for Gemini to four million vehicles, including every new GMC model, over the next several months. With this update, you can ask the Google AI platform about route information, send messages to your friends, and quickly generate playlists. That includes GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Buick models from model year 2022 and newer. Over the next several months, this update will be automatically rolled out to eligible models. How to Receive This Update If your new GMC model is eligible for Gemini support, you’ll automatically receive it when the tech update is ready. Make sure you’re connected to OnStar®, signed into the Google Play Store™, and opted in to receive Gemini updates. When your car’s upgrade is ready, a notification will be displayed on your infotainment screen. What Can You Do with Gemini? Gemini is your AI assistant that hits the road with you, able to give you immediate information about your surroundings or suggest alternative routes. You can also ask it to generate a road trip playlist based on your preferences or send a reply to someone who’s texting you. Just say “Hey Google,” tell it what you want it to do, and Gemini will handle the rest.
